~My Skirt. The Skirt.
A new school means new school clothes means you have to get it altered so it suits. Then the trouble starts.
I had my skirt altered and it created so many issues, discussions and trouble. My grandma altered it to about mid thigh so it looks pretty much like a tennis skirt aka very short. She is the only one on earth who thinks that my skirt is not really short.
When i first saw my skirt, it hit me that it is really short! Then there was this mini discussion between my grandma and mother. They both sat on each side with me squashed in the middle with the guilty skirt on my lap. My mother kept saying that my skirt is too short and my grandma defended her stand.
My grandma is pretty "happening" HUH!
My secondary schoolmates, junior college school mates, my parents (my mum especially) and my sis( who used to live in a land of short school skirts-Japan) think that my skirt is impossibly short that is in appropriate. And yes indeed it is. I cannot run in my skirt, sit on the floor, climb up the stairs, get in and out of the bench without the fear of showing the all great scenery underneath. And you get stopped by the Student Welfare officier in which i end up having to see her in the morning for a week to show that my skirt is all proper again. And you get scolded by the acting vice principal too! Not bad for the first week of school i guess!
I dont really fancy my skirt because of all the limitations it brings to my actions. Furthermore, i dont really wish to wake up early to meet the Student Welfare officier for breakfast. So i am getting it altered. I wonder what would my grandma say?
To all who have yet to catch me in this all talked about skirt- TOO BAD!! I hope i am not yet labelled as a bimbo with a short skirt. I am a hardworking girl! Beggining to hate this skirt for it insults my intelligence! HAHA.
