~The trip to the DOC
I was referred to the Singapore General Hospital for an ear check at the ENT(Ear Nose Throat) Centre.
I was told to do a test. Just when i thought i could steal a break from school i am faced with a hearing test. The lady inserted some thing into my ear that send signals into my ear to check its condition. Then i was led into another room which i foolishy obeyed. Not long later, i was faced with the fact that i was trapped in a sound proof room that has a vault like door. BOom, i was trapped in it and none of my cried could be heard outside. It was dead quiet (insert quote: so quiet till i could hear a pin drop). Actually, i could hear my heart beat which was beating faster than usual. Then they sent sounds of differing frequency and amplitude and i was suppose to acknowledged that i heard them by pressing a button. Later, Section C of the test, i was suppose to repeat after the tester. She does not pronounce words accurately and i tried to correct her.
The doc's diagnosis came. I had a lesson on hearing by my doc who is an extremely friendly and charismatic guy. Apparently, i have a low level of tolerence for loud noises and its my ear's mechanism to protect my ears. Im leaving out the scientific explanantion. So, less concerts and maybe a problem with clubbing in future? Awwss. And like how your eye twitches, my body reacts to loose nerve conditions in another way. So it produces noises. My prescription: Ignore it.
Yayness. There is nothing wrong with my ears! Instead of thinking that i am going deaf, actually i think sound is louder than how you would feel! Dont try whispering, i might just be able to catch it.
